MAGNA has had a very prominent role in the MagForum 2019, an international event that this year is held in Bilbao. It brings together a panel of leadings experts to examine and discuss the latest trends and developments in the magnesia minerals market.

During the opening conference,  From the mine to the Steel Mill, which was run by the management team of the company, the Deputy General Manager, Jorge Baños, stressed that Magna has become an important player on the world refractories market. With nearly 75 years of life, the company, which is part of the Roullier Group, has achieved full integration in the market oriented towards the end customer. Magnesite is a rare earth mineral. It can be used to provide excellent refractory materials for the steel sector, beneficial agricultural and livestock applications and innovative products for the environment, given the fact that its derivatives are vital for environmental restoration.

Mr. Baños explained that the magnesite deposits exploited by Magna in Spain, are of the largest in Europe. Only 12 countries in the world produce significant amounts of magnesite. Magna has its own raw material deposits, giving the company a tremendous competitive advantage in the supply of this mineral, as well as reliable quality with long term prospects.
