“Our Social Responsibility Policy focuses on the environment in which we operate, accompanying all our actions”

CSR POLICY

Magnesitas Navarras has put into practice a strong Corporate Social Responsibility policy. This is based on a voluntary and strategic commitment to comply with the corporate objectives to go further than strict compliance with regulations when integrating the needs of its stakeholders and, with regard to the environment, to focus on prevention, mitigation, restoration and improvement. In order to implement this CSR policy, MAGNA establishes an annual CSR Action Plan with goals and measurement indicators in the social, environmental and corporate governance areas. This is approved and assessed by the company’s management team.

As a company, it strives to lead the changeover process towards sustainable mining, calling for the complete integration into the surroundings and contributing to biodiversity and the protection of the ecological values that converge in the area in which the company operates, before, during and after its operations.

CSR Committee

MAGNA’s CSR Committee was established in order to implement the Social Responsibility strategy in line with our mission, vision, values and principles. We have provided ourselves with a top level body, responsible for planning, implementing and supervising activities in this area. It comprises representatives of the main positions in the organisation.

Duties:

  • Ensure the provisions of the resources (human, material and financial) required to guarantee the effective establishment, implementation and maintenance of the CSR, in line with the organisation’s strategy and objectives.
  • Approve the model for relations and dialogue with stakeholders.
  • Supervise the CSR plans and initiatives undertaken, guaranteeing compliance with their objectives and goals.
  • Identify the legal, social, occupational and environmental risks that may affect the organisation.
  • Provide advice and guidance to Management with regard to suggestions, initiatives and improvement proposals.
  • Assume responsibility with regard to the review and interpretation of the ethics management policy and social responsibility.

Pillars

The Action Plan is supported by the following pillars:

  1. Environmental commitment, focussed on restoration and maximum energy efficiency.
  2. Commitment to the community and area of operation.
  3. Commitment to sustainability related innovation.
  4. Commitment to the circular economy and to optimal use of the mineral resource.

Goals

Through its CSR policy, MAGNA and Groupe Roullier must contribute to the following objectives:

  • Responsible development of its core activity, in accordance with the highest ethical standards and assuming voluntary commitments to improve performance above what is legally required, while integrating into its operations, as far as possible, the needs of its stakeholders.
  • To prevent, mitigate, compensate and restore any possible negative impacts on the environment, resulting from the company’s activity, using the best available techniques.
  • Contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for 2030, by incorporating Magna’s contribution and goals in this area into an Action Plan.
  • Maximize the creation of shared, sustainable value, for Groupe Roullier and for other stakeholders as well as for all the communities in which it operates.
  • Contribute to, and increase the value added by MAGNA to the area in which it operates, as an industrial engine of growth and promoter of life in the valleys, decisively contributing to keeping people in rural areas, focussed on creating value through a commitment to R&D&i in processes and products and in relation to the environment.
  • Act through dialogue with the community, with total transparency, working from consensus and correct information. This CSR policy aims to create a reference framework that helps to define and promote spaces for meeting and participation, in order to create value for all stakeholders (customers, employees, Groupe Roullier, suppliers and society) within the framework of a culture of corporate responsibility that leads to the development of responsible corporate activity.

“MAGNA, working within the framework of the InnovaRSE Corporate Social Responsibility Management programme of the Government of Navarra, shows its commitment and effort to progress in the integration of the areas forming part of CSR”
